Are you looking for a hands-on event this SteelDays? Join Iron Workers Local 377/378 and AISC for an event like no other. You’ll tour a variety of different training stations that will allow you to experience what an ironworker does on a daily basis on a jobsite, such as virtual welding, bolting, beam rigging, crane and stair mockups, column climbing, and more--plus, you’ll learn how to make the most of IMPACT and AISC resources on your next project. You can also earn 1.5 PDHs or AIA LUs for continuing education credit. The tour will take roughly two hours. Be sure to wear pants or jeans and closed-toe shoes. No sleeveless shirts allowed.

You’ll experience a variety of different training stations that will allow you to experience what an ironworker does on a daily basis on a jobsite. You’ll have the opportunity to weld, flame-cut, try your hand at bolting or rebar tying, or climb a column--plus, you’ll learn how to make the most of IMPACT and AISC resources on your next project. You can also earn 1.5 PDHs or AIA LUs for continuing education credit.

Are you looking for a hands-on event this SteelDays? Join Iron Workers Local 24 and AISC for an event like no other. You’ll experience a variety of different training stations that will allow you to experience what an ironworker does on a daily basis on a jobsite. You’ll have the opportunity to weld, flame-cut, rig a beam, climb a column, and more--plus, you’ll learn how to make the most of IMPACT and AISC resources on your next project. You can also earn 1.5 PDHs or AIA LUs for continuing education credit. Host will provide light gloves, glasses, safety for welding and cutting. Attendees should wear closed-toe shoes and pants. No tank tops/crop tops. 45 parking spots are available.

The tour will take roughly two hours. Bring PPE if you have it (or we’ll have some you can borrow). Attendees should wear closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, and pants or jeans.

You’ll experience a variety of different training stations that will allow you to experience what an ironworker does on a daily basis on a jobsite. You’ll have the opportunity to weld, flame-cut, rig a beam, bolt, operate a crane, and climb a column--plus, you’ll learn how to make the most of IMPACT and AISC resources on your next project. You can also earn 1.5 PDHs or AIA LUs for continuing education credit. The tour will take roughly two hours. Bring PPE if you have it (or we’ll have some you can borrow) and be sure to wear jeans or pants, at least quarter-length sleeves, and closed-toe shoes (or boots if you have them). No sneakers are allowed. Parking is available at the facility in the form of a parking lot that fits 70 cars. Event capacity is 50 persons. Street parking may be available.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the views from TYLin’s modern workspace, chat with structural engineers, and see where these projects come to life.

Join High Steel Friday morning, October 24th at the High Auditorium at St. Joseph's University in Lancaster PA. Our special guest, High Steel VP of Technical Services Ronnie Medlock, PE, will deliver his 2025 AISC T.R. Higgins Lecture: Achieving Excellence in Fabricated Structural Steel. With shop-floor insights, Ronnie explores the concept of fabrication excellence - how it's defined, why it matters, and how it's achieved. Following the presentation, we will adjourn to High Steel for a BBQ picnic, welding demos and shop tours. NOTE: This event is not open to the general public. Transportation construction industry professionals are invited to attend.

We will be hosting our local CTE programs again this year for the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Steel Days event on November 11. This year each school will build sawhorses for the build out competition. Keystone will be furnishing materials and burning out each school name in the cross member used for the sawhorse. The students will put the sawhorses together and weld it out, then bring their completed project to Steel Days for judging for a chance to earn individual prizes and top prizes that will be a monetary donation to their schools CTE program. The students will then have these sawhorses for use at their future competitions. We will also be taking the students on a detailed tour of our facilities and showing them a day in the process, from estimating, detailing, purchasing, and through the shop, then staged for shipping.

We are honored to host the 2025 AISC Steel Day at our fabrication facility in Ridgefield Washington. Please extend this invitation to members of your team to learn about advanced technology in fabrication. You and your team will be hands on and see how the team at Alpha Iron converts plans and specs to BIM Models and how our robots and CNC converts the model to steel buildings and components that are LIDAR controlled perfectly manufactured to build your projects. Our goal is that you and your colleagues will: • View how technology can improve quality and schedule and reduce cost as well as reduce labor on a project. • Leave with a new understanding of what can be built out of steel. • See how technology has improved the speed of fabrication. • Witness how complex fabrications can be built more efficiently with our automation. • Identify how other trades and layout can be integrated into fabrication including MEP and architectural connections.

Join us for our 2025 Steel Day Welding Competition. This year over $40,000 in Rex I Lewis Scholarships will be awarded to the top 40 competitors to help further their welding education at the school of their choice. High school juniors and seniors from as far as 500 miles away will participate in a multi-day skill and knowledge competition. The top 40 finalists will be on hand at Puma Steel on the 24th for a final round that will challenge their skills even more. Special guests will be present to award students their scholarships. We will have a raffle for students and will be giving away $5,000 worth for prizes. Lunch will be provided along with tours of our state of the art facility.
